Area: Org Foundations (Forming)

Mission

Newsletters, marketing, fundraising, events, and everything that keeps IASER running. This is the area that makes the other three possible.

What it does

Org Foundations is different from the other three areas. It does not exist to finish a deliverable: it provides continuous service — the newsletter that goes out, the event that gets organised, the fundraising that keeps the lights on, the member portal and the coordination that every other area runs on. There is no milestone table here because the work does not end; it is done well or badly, month after month.

What that means in practice:

• Communications — the member newsletter, announcements, and the public voice of IASER: articles, talks, and updates on iaser.ai.
• Events — conferences IASER shows up at, gatherings it hosts, and the online sessions members join.
• Fundraising — the money that lets the other areas do what they have chartered.
• Coordination and infrastructure — the member portal, the shared tools, and the connective tissue between the areas and the steering committee.

Status

Forming. The area is looking for its two co-leads. Until both seats are confirmed it stays listed as forming; nothing else waits on it, and joining now is how the area gets its people.

Workstreams

None yet. Org Foundations was not among the seven groups proposed at launch, so nobody could have ranked it — it is opt-in only, and its first members are the people who choose it now.

Open seats

Two seats, sized for an area whose work is service rather than a deliverable. Neither is confirmed yet.

• Coordinator — holds the whole: knows what is going out, what is coming up, and who is doing it.
• Backup — the second pair of hands, so nothing depends on one person being available in a given week.

Seats are filled from the people who put themselves forward. If you can take one, nominate yourself.
